Had a super fun day today at the new property. We had to celebrate Adrians birthday with a killer WOD in his honor...called, "YO ADRIAN!" IT WAS BRUTAL!!! But everyone rocked. Here are few good pics.

We signed the lease today and will be holding our evening class today at 226 Cotta Ct. Suite A. We will begin to gold classes there immediately but will be waiting for our official grand openning in about a month. Stoked!!! |

Alright, I've been super busy this week and haven't had any time to update WOD's and add anything on here. It is all for good stuff. We are getting really close to getting into the property... I believe that we will actuallly sign a lease next week!!!!
Other than that, the CrossFit Visalia crew is awesome. Great workout today. I am growing more and more proud of the people that I have been blessed to have come to be a part of CFV. I can't say enough to share my heart on this matter... but I will stop there for now.

It's been a lot of fun doing the open with our friends at CrossFit Tulare. Going through those workouts together has been a great way to really get to know that great group of peeps. It is proving to be a long road getting into a property. It seems like every time we find the perfect place, or even a place that we think would work for us, something comes up. Something like a $25,000 impact fee. That was the last bomb that was dropped on us at the site plan review with the city. You see there is no such thing as zoning ANYWHERE in Visalia for any fitness facility. One who wants to go into business helping the health of the people in Visalia must get a conditional use permit, which costs roughly $700. That's not including the possibility of having to pay an impact fee. I've personally seen between $5,000 and $25,000 thrown my way on properties I've looked at. I guess what I'm getting at is that it seems like it's difficult to open a place here that helps the people of Visalia get healthier. Not impossible. I'm gonna keep moving forward and will pay the fees I have to to get this going(not $25k). It would just be cool to see this city start a program that gives incentives to people trying to help others better themselves. Just a thought... |
